Does anyone know what's going on with the city schools this year?? No more regions, how are they grouping the schools?? Anyone hear yet?? I know your principals have a choice of empowerment and stuff like that but what about the districts and the sups office??

Re: NYC Teachers..
The regions were dismantled before school let out I believe...the principals have already chosen what they want...It was either LSO...reporting to a learning specialist which is one of 3 former Supers, Empowerment or Reporting to a private company (which I still never understood) My principal chose empowerment

Re: NYC Teachers..
My school will be an LSO. Empowerment (I think) is wher ethe principal is in charge and does all the hiring and decides on how the budget is being spent.

Re: NYC Teachers..
My school will be going into its second year in the Empowerment Zone. To be honest, things were not radically different from when we were part of the Region, although we did not have the LIS and lead coaches on our backs as much as we did in the past (which, actually, was a postive change).
The whole EZ thing is confusing (and it's probably meant to be ). I do know that my principal can be on the chopping block, but that was also the case prior to entering the EZ.
