best friend dog training-mutt manners

has anyone used best friend dog training? we had a consultation today and it seemed great, just want feedback from people who have actually used them. I was very happy with the trainer that came to meet with us-and i am glad to know my puppy is a normal, energetic puppy instead of the kujo dog we thought him to be! i was surprised with how much money the training costs, but i guess in the end it is worth it. any feedback would be appreciated.

yes we used them...they were great!!!!!! Its worth every single penny!!!

I used Best Friends for Scout and they were worth every single penny. We still go to the group classes on Saturdays. We recommend them to everyone.

Scout is only 9 months old (6 wehen we started training) and he was trained in 6 weeks. Of course we continue to work with him, which is why the Saturday classes are so great. And I met a few of the ladies on here at the classes too! THey have lots of activities during the year for all the members, so it's more than just training and adios.

Kara - Who came to your house for the evaluation?

I had the WORST guy come and evaluate Dottie. HE totally turned me off to the whole thing. As soon as he came into my house, he started to rile her up, when she was already calm. Then after she calmed down again, he went and got her all excited and she piddled. I was so pizzed!!

But all of you seem so happy, maybe I'll give it another chance.

the girl that came to evaluate Miles was great, and we met another trainer in petco (which is why we called them for the free evaluation) and he seemed really great too. i wasnt too keen on the collar either, but i felt the impulse and it didn't hurt at all. it was more of an annoyance. i think we are goiing to go with them, we need to make the decision by tomorrow to get the lower price.

i do like the idea of the lifetime classes, our dog hasnt been around too many other dogs b/c he is still a puppy but i do want him to socialize and be comfortable around other dogs, and we dont know many people at all that have dogs.

any other feedback would be appreciated! thanks everyone!

in reference to the impulse collar...it has two settings...one is just a vibration that does not hurt the dogs.
I was def not into the idea at first...but with Jessi all we had to use was the vibration setting and she listened immediately.

I can't say enough about them.... my dog was crazy and now we go everywhere with him. I was against the e-collar at first but honestly don't use it often (because he'swell-bahaved)

It is somewhat pricey, we did the "petco" style training and basically got what we paid for (not a big difference). If we didn't have a treat in hand he never listen to use. In retrospective, I would pay 2x the price

Chris was the trainer that came to our house, and then Chris and Frank came to give the lessons (Frank is the owner).

I totally agree with Gloria - the Petco training was just a little intro really. And we rarely use the collar with Scout anymore, only when I take him to the park off leash since we don't work with him as much since the baby came.

It doesn't hurt at all, we keep it on a low setting - it's just an annoyance. I'd rather a little annoyance than him get hit by a car because he doesn't obey. And the training is a lot cheaper than any vet bills would be for something like that!
