Sending something to the hospital for the nurses

I want to send something but don't know what.

Cookies, Chocolate, nuts, chips, brownies?

I brought something there for the weekend shift but I want to send something for the day shift.

eta: I was thinking about an edible arrangement but I worry that if it doesn't get eaten it will be thrown away or it won't be enough to accommodate the entire group.

Also, should I include the therapists or should I send something separate.

I'm not working with a budget here. I really haven't done anything for them yet so it's ok to splurge a little as long as it will be appreciated.

Re: Sending something to the hospital for the nurses

i would do brownies, cookies, or a cake

ETA: or if you are going in the AM - bagels or donuts would be a good option too

Re: Sending something to the hospital for the nurses

We always kept a HUGE bowl of candy in Dad's room by the window past his bed so that the nurses would go into the room and he would sense activity there. The bowl was often empty.

We just felt that it would be better to actually have stuff IN the room. As long as everything was wrapped, you didnt have to worry about sterilty or infection with people touching everything. Chocolate was magnetic. TRUST ME!

Just an aside... If it werent for the nurses that cared for my parents when they had been in need, I don't know how us 4 kids would have slept at night. You are truly wonderful people and I for one appreciate all that you do.

Re: Sending something to the hospital for the nurses

I had a hard time with the recovery of my c-section in the hospital.

The nurses were so helpful.

We bought 2 trays of assorted cookies. One for the day shift, one for the night shift.

Re: Sending something to the hospital for the nurses

I worked as a nursing asssistant, and anything edible was appreciated greatly.
I think the most enjoyed was lunch, like heroes or pizza, that way we didn't have to buy anything.

Re: Sending something to the hospital for the nurses

I'm just a lurker, but I am a nurse that works nights. Can I suggest bringing something in the morning and something in the evening so both shifts get something? Alot of times families bring in something, but by the time the night shift gets there, it is all gone! Or, to save yourself two trips, maybe leaving something with the nurse manager and specifying it for the night shift? Trust me, they will really appreciate it!

I work in a hospital and things that go over the best are things like edible arrangements or sandwiches and stuff... Anything is greatly appreciated though!

Re: Sending something to the hospital for the nurses

After my mom passed away we brought a basket of Cookies into the hospital where my mom was. They took really good care of her there. The nurses were amazing in the area she was in
