Sedona and Grand Canyon -- with a 5 month old?

Or am I crazy?

DH and I are dying to go both places this November and of course want to take Alex with us even tho she is too young to appreciate it.

Any suggestions on where to stay and what to do with a baby? White water rafting and jeep tours are probably out of the question.

Or is this a bad idea??

It seems very active a trip for a little one, but just tailor it and pick and choose what you do. Maybe you could stay in Scottsdale and just do a day trip to Sedona? We've stayed at the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale which is just beautiful and kid friendly.

Thanks - we planned to stay in Sedona and just one night at the Grand Canyon so we can catch both sunset and then sunrise the next morning. In Sedona we planned to stay somewhere laid back with a pool....nothing too crazy for DD!

DDs were 5 1/2 months when we went to Sedona. Totally doable! There's a lot of great walks, scenery, shopping, the church in the red rocks, there's a market to walk around in, we were able to go to a nice dinner, etc. I can't remember where we stayed but if I had to do it again we'd stay closer in town, we were a little off the beaten path.

We were just at the Grand Canyon and there are a few lodges right on the canyon's edge that would be good for you. There's paved trails that run along the canyon so you can use your stroller.
