sorry to put up another post but I am freaking out
If all goes well today by little angels are coming home tomorrow. Today my little man is getting his circumcision and they both are going to try to pass their "car seat challenge." This is when they put them in their car seats for an hour and see if they can tolerate it. If the outcome is good all around they will both come home TOMORROW! Ah! I am so, so, excited but I am nervous at the same time because they are coming home with oxygen. We will get nursing service from 8pm-8am, which is fantastic! After being in the hospital for so long I just get nervous taking them home. Any suggestions on how to make sure i am really prepared? ANy tips? I am going to repost on parenting too. Thanks everyone for all your support and well wishes since the beginning.

OMG..I just got chills reading this! So happy your babies will be coming home soon! No advice really...I had a preemie in the NICU, but she didn't come home on oxygen, so I don't know what to tell you about that.
I do remember being told we can take her home and thinking how am I going to survive taking care of her without the NICU nurses telling me what to do...but it all worked out just fine.
I'm sure you will do great! Congrats!

Your instincts will kick in...don't worry so much about what to prepare for, things never work out as planned. Just enjoy the day you bring your beautiful babies home! You are all in my prayers! Congrats to you!!!!

My DD was in the NICU for a minor issue for a week, nothing like your situation. We had no advanced notice of what day she was coming home. One day we went to visit and all of a sudden they said, she can go home now! It's all we wanted but at the same time I remember thinking... "Ummm.... Oh, ah, I don't even have the diaper bag with me or an outfit or a carseat with us. " So we drove from Manhasset back out to Suffolk, got everything, went back out to Manhasset. The entire time I was thinking... "OK, now it's really hitting me, there will be TWO babies in the house" 
What was I thinking or not thinking?
Despite it being a minor issue I remember being nervous that she'd have other issues once she'd get home. Nothing happened.
You will be just fine Your instincts will kick in and I am sure that the nurses will be great with any last minute questions that come up.
The hospitals are so very cautious these days. If they did not have 100% confidence that the twins will do great they would not be releasing them.
If you ever need anything, please don't hesistate to ask any of us on this board

That is wonderful news!!! There's a great support network of multiple moms and NICU graduates - we're all here for you. Your little ones are incredibly strong - such troopers - and what a gift they are for you and your DH

Great news. So happy for you! Like the others said, you really worry more about it. When you actually get home you are so busy taking care of them and you really follow your insticts. Enjoy every minute with them

Congrats!!!!!!! I am so excited for your family!!!!
Make sure you have people that can run out and get anything you need last minute since you will not want to leave thier sides for a second the first few days home.

I am so excited for you!!!!! You must be on cloud 9. Don't be worried, before you know you will be like the rest of us planning their 1st birthdays, etc. and not knowing where the time went. Enjoy every minute with those little miracles!!!!!
