Can you check out my welcome ltr too???
thanks - I need to have it finalized by tomorrow! (ok, it formatted diff on here but its perfectly formatted in real life!)
In particular, I feel like the last sentence is weirdly worded...any suggestions?
------------------------------------------------------ thanks for all the input!

That sounds really good. It is pre-school right? I would just check your 3rd paragraph I think you missed a comma. Other than that it sounds great, warm, and welcoming.

between our class and class routine because then you use another and maybe you can change it into two sentences.

Re: Can you check out my welcome ltr too???
thanks I kind of figured that might be where you meant....should it be a comma or a semi colon though....I had it as two sentences, but it seemed too formal and silly then I thought....

Re: Can you check out my welcome ltr too???
I think Id make it two sentences. Also, can you say "classroom" rather than class?
ETA: In paragraph two.

Dear Parents,
I am sure as you watch your child get ready to join us at the Early Childhood Center, it is hard to believe how much he/she has grown in the past few years and that soon he/she will be a member of our kindergarten class. As a parent myself, I can imagine the mixed emotions you will experience as your child boards the bus for the first time next week. I want to welcome you to what will be a wonderful school year at the ECC as you and your child begin an amazing journey throughout the schools of the XXXXXXXXX School District!
My name is XXXXXXXXXXXXX and I cannot wait to work with you and your child. I will be your child’s teacher while Mrs. XXXXXX is on maternity leave this year and am anxiously awaiting meeting you at the Kindergarten orientation! I am excited to once again join the ECC family, after serving as a leave replacement for Ms. XXXXXXXX last spring. I am hoping to bring my passion for literacy and science into the class, having spent the last six years of my life working to create a hands-on summer learning program in zoology and botany at a local petting zoo, as well as developing family literacy workshops in New York City.
While the first next few weeks of schools will likely be ones of adjustment for your “new” kindergartner, it is a very important “getting to know you” period for all of us. Your child will be busy getting to know the Early Childhood Center, our class and our routine and I welcome you to get to know me as well. I am looking forward to sharing in this year with both you and your child, and working closely with you throughout this time.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you or your child through the transition into kindergarten or any time you have concerns over the course of this school year. I can be emailed at [email protected] or you can call the school at (xxx) 123.4567 and leave a message, I will return your call as soon as I can!
I am very excited to meet you and become a part of your life. This is going to be such a fun school year! I cannot wait to hear about all of the exciting things that your child has been up to during the summer and to begin the wonderful voyage toward becoming first graders!
Sincerely,
great job!

Re: Can you check out my welcome ltr too???
I might get rid of the "...while Mrs. X is on maternity leave" part, because it makes it sound like you're a sub or something. Mrs. X isn't coming back this year at all, right? You're their teacher, no matter that it's a leave replacement.
Good luck and have fun!

Sounds great but seems very long. Is there anywhere you could be more succinct?
