Is anyone not taking lamaze?
I'm 33 weeks and I wasn't going to take the class but now that I'm getting closer I'm rethinking it. I've heard it can be a waste of time. TIA

I'm not taking it...I've heard its a waste of time, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to take it. I prefer to wing it!

What I was told is that it is good to take something (Lamaze Bradley whatever) for first time moms just so that when you get in the delivery room it won't be the first time you're hearing different words and/or expressions and will have some sense of what the nurses and doctors are talking about.

I am still on the fence. I think I want the epi, but thought the class could teach me something. The hospital charges $150 though, so I am trying to decide whether I think it is worth it or not.

We're not, but we ordered a DVD trio that covers Childbirth, Caring for a Newborn and Breastfeeding instructions.

No, I want to take a basic parenting class and a child safety/baby CPR class, but I just don't think I can fit this in, and I'm not drawn to Lamaze, I have the feeling it would just seem annoying to me.
I would like to find a good DVD on childbirth to watch with DH, so we have some familiarity.

I actually just posted something very similar.
I have heard it's not that informative and just a waste of money. I am looking into a private Lamaze class to be as prepared as possible.
Maybe you should think of doing something privately. - More one on one (special attention)!

I took Lamaze with my first and the breathing techniques did NOTHING for me. I would just skip it and order a video.

We took a 1 day Childbirth Preparation class. They talked very briefly about different breathing techniques.
We found some information good, but not sure it was completely worth it. (showed us certain videos I could have done without!!!)

I'm not taking it. For me I can see it being a waste...When i'm in that delivery room in tons of pain the last thing I am going to be remembering is how to breathe. Besides i'd probably fall asleep...can't seem to stay awake since i've become pregnant.

I'm registered to take the class but I'm rethinking it. It's $225 at the hospital I'm giving birth at and I wonder if it's worth it.
