I am sitting here hysterical as i read all the post of people returning to school. Heres my thing...i was going for elementary education but decided this semester to go to a different school to try another major because of all the things i have heard about how hard it is to get a job. I really wanted to be a teacher but my new profession i am persuing pays better which is why i was leaning towards it espically since we have a baby on the way. I get teacher supply books in the mail everyday and i break down everyday can someone please give me some advice!

Re: Please help
You have to do whats right for you! If you have a little one on the way, maybe a better paying job will work out in the end....getting a teaching job on Long Island isnt easy....but you have to do whatever your heart tells you to !
Hope that helps!!!

Re: Please help
if you are worried about getting a job on long island, perhaps try getting a job in the city first. it is easier to get a job, and then after a year or two experience you may have more success landing a job in long island. i noticed someone on the pregnancy board suggested you do teaching fellows. as someone who did the program and who is pregnant right now, do NOT apply. it is way too much work and too long hours for someone with a baby, IMO.
