Exercise

Do you exercise? I used to before getting pregnant and up until now have had really bad m/s. I would like to do something since I'm starting to feel better. What did you do and for how long (many months along were you)?

Re: Exercise

I was running on my treadmill before I got PG and continued to do it up thru my 5 month - at that point I just used it for walking.
It was a little harder to breathe at that point, which is why I switched to walking.

Just get your doctors okay to continue to do what you were doing pre-pg.

I had to completely stop by 7 months because my body just couldn't take it anymore!

Re: Exercise

Wasn't allowed to from day one.

My pregnancy was classified as "high risk" due my my age and carrying multiples.

Re: Exercise

Before becoming pg, I was a runner. So I continued walking uphill on the treadmill, cycling, stairclimbing and the elliptical. I was also doing stomach crunches up until my 6th week when we found out it was twins, then I stopped.

Now I still continue cardio, mostly brisk walking and cycling, 4-5x a week for about 30-50 minutes a shot. I'm going to be exactly 14 weeks on Sunday and I feel good exercising.

Re: Exercise

I took a prenatal yoga class, I had workout DVDs, a prenatal yoga DVD, arm weights and I walked or did the elliptical at lunch at work - until I was put on bed rest. Then I did some arm weights and leg lifts in bed. Chat Icon

Re: Exercise

I walked about three times a week, but after that not too much. By my 6 months it was hard to do much with my heartburn and getting out of breath easily.
