Chihuahua 4 sale on LIW
Hey girls...just wanted to let everyone know that someone is selling a chihuahua puppy on LIWeddings.com. I would love to take him, but FH wants to wait until after we move into the new house. I think it is posted on Brides Helping Brides or the 07 board.

It's been moved to the Pets board along with a Havanese that someone is getting rid of.
I can't begin to say how disgusted I am by these people who just go and get a dog without thinking and then have to get rid of it.

Why sell the dog? If you truly can't keep the dog give him to a good home. I don't understand some people. He is awfully cute though

I FM'ed the girl with the Havanese about Hav Rescue. I even offered to foster him. God help me when DH finds out

We are definitely seeing a lot of people who have gotten dogs and had to get rid of them right away. I don't think that these people should be looking for $$ at that point.
As for people who discover that they are allergic to their animals, I can sympathize a little bit. Some people's allergies are so severe that no remedy is really going to help them to tolerate living with the animal. I could never live with a cat and I would never try. However, I have to wonder why so many people suddenly have an allergy that they never knew about before. New allergies do develop, but most people have some clue about what they might react to. If I did discover that I had a dire allergy to a new animal, I would feel so bad that I would not be looking for money for the animal.

it turned out she "gave" the puppy to her brother so they could still visit him... umm if he is that allergic that you had to get rid of him isn't he still going to have problems when he goes to see the puppy

Yeah, if he is that allergic I do not see how he could visit but if I ever ever ever had to get rid of a pet, I would probably only be willing to give it to family.

I am very sad over this, it could make me go insane that people do not think of ALL of the ramifications before getting a pet. They treat them as disposable objects and it saddens me beyond words.

Yeah, I just take more notice when it is a dog, being a dog person. Not everyone who has to re-home a pet is a horrible person, but there are some excuses that either don't make sense or make me wonder why the person ever got the animal.

Just as an FYI....... especially for small dogs, please do not ever do a "Free to good home" type of post if you have to re-home your pet. Many "bait dogs" for fighting rings are obtained this way. The "collectors" know exactly what to say to appear like good potential pet owners. A small adoption fee will prevent this.
HOWEVER, "selling" a pet is just plain ridiculous. It is not a car/house/purse, etc... that you can just get rid of
