NYC Teachers: Tenure and TTC
I have heard conflicting information and wondering if you girls can confirm for me. In NYC, do you receive tenure on the last day of your third year...or the first day of your fourth year? I've heard both and wanted to find out.
Also in NYC, if you go on maternity leave during your third year (tenure year), you must pay that time back....correct? What if you have those days in your bank of sick days and personal days?
Sorry if I am confusing, but want to find out the truth before we start trying!

I have heard of teachers who were getting tenure and not coming back to work in NYC having to coming back for the first day or two of school (prof development days) and then they fullfilled their tenure
On TTC and paying time back not sure...but it wouldn't surprise me

You get tenure the second day of your 4th year, meaning like this year... August 30th, would have been tenure day for those you already served their 3 yrs.
