k, I don't think I like threading.
Now, this is probably because of where I went.. but, I think I will stick to tweezing with the person who has been doing my eyebrows for 6 years.
I just felt the attention to detail was not there in terms of shape and making sure she got everything. And when I asked her to trim my brows, she grabbed one of those huge scissors with the plastic handles ( have one that I keep in my kitchen, as I am sure most of you do as well). I said, if you are going to use that scissor, then don't do it.
I liked it for my upper lip-- where I am not concerned about shaping, etc. I also just have some blond hairs here and there-- so, this is easier.
I paid $30 for eyebrow and lip (plus tip)-- and I pay my girl in the city $40 even (no tip since it's her own place). I was looking to save a couple of bucks, and also try threading since I can no longer wax-- but, I think I will stick with what I know. I thought that was way too much money for the level of service I received.

Wow. Good call on not letting her get near you with those big scissors. I'd be scared!
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. As I've posted before, I really like threading. But if you're happy with tweezing, and it's what you know, then I'd stick with that. There's no point in spending all that money if you're not happy with the results.

Re: k, I don't think I like threading.
It's a new day spa a block from my apt and I figured, it seems legit and a nice enough place. I was WRONG.

I go to a place on the upper east side...they are fabulous and lip and eyebrow cost $12.

yeah, she was like-- this is the kind I always use... I feel like they work better. They looked like they had previously been used to open up a package they got delivered.
Since I am not working in the city anymore-- I was looking to go somewhere close to home and a few bucks cheaper, but I think I will just stick with the original plan.
