Great.. now it isnt just me.. SA results
So I am going to preface this by saying that we BD'ed A LOT the week of the test bc I was ovulating. He had about 36 hours between the time we last BDed and the time of the test.
Anyway....
his concentration came back 16million (should be over 20)
and his morphology is 5 (should be over 20%)
Other numbers seem to be ok but Im freaking. They suggested he see a urologist and get another one done in a few weeks.
Please tell me this isnt horrible....

my dh has 2 SAs. The morphology was 8% the first time, 11% the second. This is why they told us IUI is good because they can get those normal sperm after they wash the sperm. my dh went to a really great doctor and both she and dr brenner said, even though the IUI puts everything good where it needs to be, it doenst necessarily mean it couldnt happen on it own. do not get worked up, go to the urologist and take it from there.
i know how you feel, but it was opposite for us. we found out his issue first....now i dont ovulate! UGH

My DH had 5% morphology once and 1% morphology this last time. It's not horrible. IUI is going to be the best answer for you because they wash the sperm and select the best ones.

My DH got tested in May and had 16 million as his count - I got pregnant that same month on our own! Unfortunately, I m/c, but it is enough sperm to get pregnant! Now my RE wants my DH to get tested again and of course my DH does not want to!! Good luck to you and I think the numbers are not terrible at all, people have gotten pg on much, much lower from what my ob had told me back in May.

I just wanted to give you some hope both my dh and I have a problem he has a pituitary tumor and I have PCOS and we got preggo from IVF with ISCI unfortunalety I lost both babies atleast it happened and I am doing IVF again now and I know it will happen again...

You shoudl FM MrsGreek as she seems to know a lot about male factor...I think it's her....
Anyway there are TONS of vitamins your DH can take to improve sperm quality. He shoudl be eating healthy, not drinking and do a search for vitamins he can take.

Jen I'm so sorry you have to deal with this too on top of the PCOS
We have 5% morph as well, I think the motility was also on the low side. DH goes for a repeat s/a in a few weeks so we'll have a better idea of where to go after that. But one thing everyone has said is that you need to have 2 samples to make a diagnosis so the next one may be fine. As for treatment, I have looked high and low to find some concrete numbers about what works and what doesn't. From what I have read so far it seems that IVF with ICSI is the best treatment. Turst me, I'm not quite ready to wrap my mind around the IVF idea just yet, so if I find any better research on the issue I'll let you know

On DH's last SA his morphology was 1% and count was 5million.
The next month I got pg.
Your Dr. will most likely try at least three iui's before discussing other options with you.

My DH had a count of 5.6 million, and then another time was at 24million, and the docs said it was very unlikely that we would get PG on our own. But WE DID!

Dhs morph was 4% and 5% , He saw a urologist who said it was ok based on the rest of the SA, they look at it deeper.
Vitamins really helped him.

Awww Jen I don't have any advice for you but just wanted to offer some
It does certainly seem like this may not be too horrible as MF seems pretty treatable. Go to the urologist and see what they have to say. If you need any kind of recommendations, please FM me, I have one I can recommend.

Morphology seems to be a problem for so many of us. I was told that IUI is the best option too.
