People with allergies please help!
If you get bad seasonal allergies, does it sometimes feel like a cold? For the past 3 days I have had a scratchy sore throat and have been sneezing, my nose is itchy too but I cant tell if it is a cold or allergies! I get seasonal allergies but never this bad!

I keep hearing that the pollen count is VERY high this season.
I've been using Flonase the past few months b/c I have allergies all year round and I honestly forgot what sneezing feels like!

Yes, it can seem like a cold. This season is really kicking my butt!!! I take Zyrtec (which usually works great for me) and I am still having problems.

Sounds like it could def be allergies. i am So sick. I need to go bakc on zyrtec, allegra doens't work anymore!
One way to tell if it's a cold or allergies is to look at the color if you have any mucus, i know this is gross, but it it's clear, then it's usually allergies, if it's yellow or green, it's a sign of infection..Sorry, i know TOTALLY gross!
but bear in mind allergies can easily lead to a cold because they are making your respiratory system VERY vulnerable.
Try claritin. It's OTC and it's pretty good. it worked for me when I first started having allergy problems, now it seems like I need stronger and stronger stuff. I was on 3 antihistamines for awhile

TMI FYI- if you blow your nose and it's mostly thin and clear: allergies. Green or yellow: cold.
Pollen, etc. levels have been insanely high. My meds are not working so well lately.

But if you feel like it might be related to allergies, I wouldn't just forget about it, you may want to look into allergies as well. A lot of my worst allergy attacks turn into colds (like right now)... When I was a kid I was sick ALL the time, I always had sore throats and it wasn't until I had my tonsils out AND treated my allergies that I started to get relief.

i actually got hives just from being outside on Sunday.
My allergies are the worst they've ever been.
None of the Rxs work for me anymore- i'm totally immune.
