anyone else in for a rough year
Today was by far the roughest day I had with my kids. I have a group this year that cannot work together or follow directions. They are totally opposite the class I had last year and I got real spoiled.

Oh god me too - THANK you to the angel who got me pregnant a few months before we were planning on it so I only have a half year with these kids.....I am counting down the days to January!

Yes but not b/c of my kids.
My district implemented a whole new reading series, plus quarterly benchmark tests plus new curriculum maps for all grades
Too much learning!!!

I will, but not because of the kids. I took on an AP course, and it's soo much work. I'm hoping once I get into the swing of things, it will be better. But for now I feel like every waking moment is devoted to this class.

ME!!! I've been teaching 2nd grade for 9 years and this class is by far the worst. They are the most inattentive group of kids I have had, and seem to think rules do not exist this year!

ME ME ME
I have one class who has good days/ bad days, one who is typically good (thank god) and one HORROR SHOW that does not stop talking, getting out of their seats, etc unless the dean sits in the room.

I dont know what makes me motre upset..the fact that they are lazy and dont try or that they are mean to eachother. I was actually thinking that at the end of every day I was going to have them ech say something nice about someone in the class.

I am.
I have my first overbearing, obnoxious parent of the year. And this one WON'T be going away. When I didn't respond to her email within 24 hours, she went over my head to the principal--as she's done 3 other times this year.
Someone please shoot me...or better yet, her!

I seem to think this way every year, but they are slowly beginning to grow on me. I have 3 I could live without(who doesn't). The first 2 weeks all I did was complain. I always seem to forget it takes them some time to get to know what expected from me.

So far the kids are pretty good, but my workload SUCKS! Four preps and six assignments - equals extra money but a lot of extra work.
Hope everyone's situation improves!
