Losing weight = losing hair
I had JHS done in May but I'm starting to think the real culprit is diet.
Every thing I've read up on diet-related hair loss points to the programs with rapid weight loss. I only lost 1-2lbs a week on WWers & am eating healthier than I ever had.
I've started taking a multi-vitamin but I can't believe the amount of hair I've lost. Luckily I have a ton of hair but at one point it has to stop, no?
It's on par with post-partum hair loss.
Going for a dermatologist skin check next week & will mention it then but was curious...
Anyone else dealing with this?

Re: Losing weight = losing hair
When I starting losing weight by hair definitely thinned out.... I think it was beacause I wasnt eating enough vitamins.. are you eating a lot of low fat foods rather than vegetables and fruits? I would use all my points on fat free low fat carb points rather than real food points...

Re: Losing weight = losing hair
I think diet can definitely contribute. I lost so much hair when I first became a vegetarian. I looked it up online for you, and:
Principal nutrients that are involved include vitamin A, certain B vitamins, the vitamin biotin, vitamin C, copper, iron, zinc, protein, and water.
HTH.

Well, I'm not sure...but since I began taking hair, skin, nail pills my hair has tons of new growth (annoying baby hairs everywhere) and is in great health. You might want to try that to help combat the diet issues....Nioxin also makes a leave-in spray for your crown/scalp. Try Ulta for it.

What skin/nail/hair pills have you been taking, Lana?
Sorry, no advice, but

It has Biotin in it. I was using GNC hair, skin, nails--but I switched to a Wild By Nature brand. Biotin does wonders for skin and hair......also, on another note, if your skin is breaking out and you don't know why and it's not your products--check your vitamins. Many vitamins have high amounts of iodine (bad for skin) and sea kelp--BAD for acne.
