Can pilates hurt your knees?
I went to my first pilates class today - it was one-on-one with the instructor - and now my knee hurts. I have knee issues to start with but I've been fine lately. She had me on the pilates machine with my knees bent out to the side doing a leg-press type excerise. Has anyone else had problems with that?

Re: Can pilates hurt your knees?
Shouldn't really hurt your knees as pilates is really low-impact. But, as the muscles surrounding your joints get stronger the discomfort should go away. Always tell your instructor if something hurts - she can correct your form and make sure you're not putting strain on your joints.
