I'm coming out of the closet!
Hi girls, I've been lurking for months so I'm coming out to say HI!
DH and I decided that my last month on the patch will be July and then it's time to get down to business. I went to my gyn yesterday for my annual PAP and told him what we decided. I thought he would have prescribed pre-natals because I thought you're supped to take them while TTC. Is that true/not true??
And from lurking around here for so long, I'm going to buy the TCOYF book soon. Glad to be joining you all.

Good Luck when you start. You can start to take them if you want, It wont hurt. I didn't get a perscription, I bought the over the counter ones. He just told me to take Folic Acid. I decided to take Pre-Natals.

Welcome and Good Luck TTC!!!
You can start taking over the counter pre-natals to get yourself ready. I take the GNC brand and they are working out well for me. ANything with 800mcg folic acid is good for now

Yea!! Welcome, my almost date-twin!!
I would definitely start some kind of multi-vitamin with folic acid. And that book will help you more than anything. I'm re-reading it now and DH started to read it too!!

I take GNC mega vitamins taht have 400 mg folic acid and then I take an additional 400 mg of folic acid too.
Def. get prenatals!

Congratulations and lots of Baby Dust to you. My doc advised me to take two multivitamins or an OTC prenatal vitamin. Like everyone else said...it's the folic acid that you need.

Thanks for the BD ladies and for the advice about the vitamins. I suddenly feel so much responsibility and want to make sure that I can do whatever I can to have a healthy pregnancy and baby.
DH and I are really excited about TTC! Looking forward to more posts here.
