I didn't take the job
I went in today for a trial and spent most of the time trying not to cry. Basiclly I was the detention person, not a teacher. I had to follow these teenage boys around, while they tried not to kill eachother, curse me out, talk about selling drugs and on and on. I just told the director it wasn't me for. I couldn't handle that. Am I a bad teacher? I've been crying on and off about it, I just thought this would have worked out.

Aww....thats horrible.....you should NEVER do that kind of job, your not a baby sitter, your an EDUCATOR!!!!!

That is NOT being a teacher, that is being a babysitter/guard/warden!
I am so sorry, I know you must be really disappointed but don't blame yourself--I wouldn't deal with that kind of job either!

I'm sorry it didn't work out, but it was obviously not the job for you. The paycheck is not worth all the misery it would have caused you every day. It doesn't mean you're a bad teacher or an unreliable person - you tried out a new situation, it wasn't right for you, and you got out quickly. You did the right thing.
