sorry- i dont have any advice. But we're in a similar situation, and just started talking about TTC next year- but if we still dont feel ready next year, we may put it off another year... so who knows. I know thats not much help, but just wanted to let you know that you werent alone in your concerns.

It's so hard to find daycare you trust. We got pg by surprise so we were freaking out about it. Right now my Dad & his wife are watching Jake but she does in-home daycare so there are other children there so we are not 100% happy with the situation, but then again, no daycare situation is really ever ideal. You want to be home with your baby.

We also cannot afford to live on one salary so I had to go back to work at 3 months (even though my job allows me 1 year of child care leave unpaid) and it stinks. At least we have "family" watching the baby but still, I wish one of our mothers lived nearby (they both live OOT).

I also was not thrilled with the idea of leaving an infant in daycare so that's why I also looked into hiring a nanny/sitter to come to our home and other in-home daycares. You can look into those types of care if you don't want to use a daycare center.
