this is more edible craft, but the teacher I teach with was saying she gets a parent to organize these monster cupcakes that the kids decorate...not SO much food as usual and keeps them occupied...hth

I teach 1st grade but in art center kids traced and cut out a pumpkin shape then crumpled orange tissue paper and glued on paper. then cut out eyes mouth nose in black paper but you could have those precut. ( I put them on my door and wrote welcome to class XXX pumpkin patch)

another cute craft is this.. we are doing it this week in centers..bat my first graders made it quickly though. the pumpkin takes a bit longer
