What looks good on a resume?

I am currently in school for Elementary Special Education. I am almost finished with school and was wondering, if there are any groups, meetings or clubs? I should become apart of to set myself apart from everyone else.

Any help or advise you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

for me, they really liked my international travel and service work experience. i was asked more about that almost more than teaching questions.

they also look for dedication to the field: attending conferences, professional development... being a member of professional groups such as the association for the exceptional child, NCTM, etc.

Also, other work with kids: coaching, girl scouts, things like that. ..
