Whole house humidifiers...
I am considering one since we have electric heat and we all get dried out (Even the doggies).
Should we go for cool mist or warm mist???

do you have forced air? If so, there's a humidifier you can put on the circulator.

Do you have vents in your house? OK, perhaps and easier question, do you have Central AC? If so, then this could be something you could look into.

Yes to both...we have Central A/C with both vents and returns in the house. A/C unit is in the attic (with very little room) and the condensing unit is outside, of course.

Re: Whole house humidifiers...
OK, I'm not home so I can't tell you what exact model I have, but it's something similar to this:
http://www.allergybegone.com/honeywell-he360a1027-whole-house-humidifier.html
It cost a couple of hundred buck to put in, but it really worked well for us.

Re: Whole house humidifiers...
No problem - we had the company that maintains our cooling and heatings systems (we have two zones) install it.

Re: Whole house humidifiers...
I have to have them in to service my unit. My Husband is handy so he will look to do it himself. I hope it is not to hard to do.
