I used the crock pot!!!

For the first time ever, I finally am using my crock pot. I didn't use any recipe, just put some stuff together and I'm hoping it comes out good.

I'm making pork tenderloin. Its cooking in apple cider. I cut up a yellow onion, one clove of garlic, dried rosemary, thyme, cinnamon, and an apple.

I'll let you know later.

Re: I used the crock pot!!!

definitely let us know! I've always been curious about crock pot cooking... I suspect it is a genius invention producing lots of different yummy things...

Also report on how Chat Icon it is to clean up... I'm imagining a lot of stuck-on stuff

Re: I used the crock pot!!!

SUCCESS

DH loved it and said I have to make this again. I made a pan sauce/gravy out of the juices that the pork cooked in.

the cider did not burn or anything. but I may have used way too much, the pork was almost covered in liquid (it was my first time)

It was also super easy to clean up. The bowl is removable, and there was nothing caked/baked on.

Re: I used the crock pot!!!

yay!! it sounds really good! might have to try this next week, since we have some apple cider!
you should make a pot roast in there, too! comes out AWESOME!! i just put the roast in with some cut up potatoes and a bag of baby carrots, and a cut up onion. i add a litttle bit of salt, pepper and garlic powder.... put in one cup of beef broth and one cup of water. cook it all day, and you have your full meal when you get home! Chat Icon
also, with only 2 of us, this makes enough for 2 meals.. so i pack the leftovers away and a couple days later i just put them in a pan in the oven for about 10, 15 minutes... tastes just as good as the first night Chat Icon LOVE my crockpot! you'll be addicted now! Chat Icon

Last night I put in a lamb shoulder, put in a can of tomatoes, some spices, a bag of lentils and this morning I had a gorgeous lamb stew with the meat falling off of the bone!

I love my crockpot!!
