probably not...
at my school, only our kindergartners are allowed to come to school in costume. in my opinion, it just gets to crazy.... the kids get way too hyper and it's just hard to manage.

THey dress up afterschool for a parade but no costumes during school hours.

It was banned in my high school last year and upheld by the school board.
It was WAY too much of a distraction.
Kids would dress up as the Ooom-pah-loompahs (or other groups) but carry around a boom box and in the middle of changing classes decide to do a synchronized dance number in the middle of the hallway
Never mind the girls dressing like absolute s l u t s, sorry there is no other way to describe it.
It was also ironic that some of the most homophobic young men would dress as girls for Halloween
And one group, years ago, dressed as the Jackson 5, yes, caucasian kids in blackface. I was APPAULED!!!
Unfortunately, the kids took, what used to be a fun day, too far. They crossed the line. It's sad because it was a big tradition in my school but with a lot of things today, kids didn't know how to take the "inch" we were giving them, they had to keep pushing for the "yard".

My district does NOT allow costumes either...even at the elemnatry age. I am so upset by this especially for the little ones. I remember that day and we always had a parade and looked forward to it, but I guess if the rule applies to one school it has to apply for the whole district.
I remember the days when Halloween "USED" to be fun

I'm in the middle school, no dressing up for us. They do have a Halloween dance ( not on Halloween) and the kids get dressed up.

The seniors dress up and do a parade down to one of the elementary schools.

my school does costumes, but not till the end of the day. i think the parade is from 2-2:30, and then after that they have small parties in their rooms. they don't put their costumes on till right before the parade, that way they're less distracted

I wish my school did no costumes. They say no hats and head gear and dress rules still apply. We have to dress up too! I maybe a scrooge, but I don't think its appropriate in school. If they did it after school thats ok, just not in school!

I teach at a middle school and we are not allowed to wear costumes even though the other middle school in the district and all the high schools are allowed. Our principal is a crazy lady.
