Anyone want to play travel agent for DH and I?
So........
It looks like we (finally) will be taking our first big vacay since our honeymoon in Sept 04 Late notice but DH (finally) got clearance to go away.
We are both thrilled but could use any suggestions/advice.
A little bit of background on the both of us:
Me: 1.Overtired
2. In desperate need of some R and R.
3. Would love some place warm and relaxing!!!
Him: All of the above!!!!!!
I should add we are on a budget and planning to get away during the Christmas holidays (approx 8 days).
Some ideas we have bounced around so far: St. Lucia (which after researching seems a little above what we want to spend), Puerto Rico, Dominican R, Mexico..... and other islands.
I am really really interested in any experiences regarding some nice hotels and properties. We are pretty easy to please and very flexible on islands!!!!

You could do an all inclusive - breezes is very reasonable. you've got a lot of options in jamaica.
also check out secrets resorts (and dreams - which is the same company, but they allow kids.)

We went to mexico over the summer and loved it! We hope to go back soon. We stayed in Riu Las Americas in Cancun, but I heard Cabos is beauitful too. It was all inclusive which we love.

We've gone to Cancun in December and had a great time.
We stayed one year at the Riu Caribe (it had just changed hands) and the next year at the Marriott CasaMagna. While both were nice, we enjoyed the Marriott more (we end up spending less without an all inclusive option because we like to leave the resort to eat/go out during our stay anyway!
This year, we're going to Aruba - I've seen some deals in the newspaper (we're using points/miles so I didn't really look too much into pricing).

definitely check the mayan riviera, i believe secrets has an only adults resort as well as they do in the dominican republic.

have you considered a cruise? They have great deals near christmas. I was going to take the following cruise with my friend but DH got jealous and "didnt think it was a good idea"

We are currently leaning very much towards Excellence all inclusive in Punta Cana.
Anybody have any feedback???
