Re: Is it possible...
technically No.
When you ovulate, your AF. When the egg is released, after 24 hrs or so the egg disappears if not fertilized. If an egg doesn't implant progesterone wears away and sends a signal to start shedding the lining-hence AF.
Michelle(redstar) is the best person to explain the whole process from the growth of the follicle to the shedding of the liner.

Actually, you can ovulate at the end of AF. Sometimes follies, grow very fast. As soon as the corpus luteum dissolves, the follies start to grow...because progesterone is no longer being secreted. I have O'd as early as cd10. If you have a long AF , it is very possible to O during it or just after it. It's rare though.
Follies grow at about 1mm to 2mm a day. They may be too immature to be fertilized however, if they rupture too soon. For instance, if you O at 7mm, your follies are probably only 14mm max. Usually a follie should be about 18mm-28mm for fertilization. However, there are cases that a 16mm gets fertilized and a 30mm gets fertilized.
Another question, did you spot before AF? If you were spotting during the time before AF, your follies might have started to grow...even before you started to bleed.
Sorry if this is confusing, but it is possible to O during or right after AF....just not, in the LP.
What made you ask this question ? Any indication of it happening ?

Thanks Michelle, I appreciate it.
I do spot a little right before AF, always have.
I am three days late and have no PMS symptoms, but then again, my cycles have been wacky this past year. I used to be like clockwork, but I suppose now that I'm getting close to 35 things will change a bit.
I have been so busy with work lately, and worn out from my commute that the last time we BD'ed was a month ago. So I'm fairly skeptical and don't want to get my hopes up. I will probably go buy a test tomorrow if AF does not show.
