Re: Should i opt for treh DNC or miscarry naturally??

I say go for the D&C. Get it over with. I was going to M/c naturally, but the thought of bleeding for days and just waiting would have killed me.
If you have a D&C, they can test to see if anything is wrong.
Im still waiting for the results.

Re: Should i opt for the DNC or miscarry naturally??

I DO NOT like Anesthesia so I would go for naturally. I went Naturally with my last M?C and it was nothing horrible at all. I preferred it then have the D N C...

I had no choice, I miscarried naturally the day they did the sono that showed no growth from week 7 to week 10 and no heartbeat.

It wasn't all that bad, just a really bad AF for a few days and then I spotted for 6 weeks till a real AF showed up.

OH Noel, I said this on the other post, I am soo sorry you have to go through this again. I am crying writing this...
Since you already started spotting/bleeding, I would miscarry naturally. I feel it's always better to do things naturally than have "technology" do it for you. Since you are so early in your pg, like shana said, you will bleed for a little while and be done. I never had a full on Af like m/c, i spotted for 8-10 days and was done.

Please let me know if you need anything, I will always be here for youChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Should i opt for the DNC or miscarry naturally??

Noel... deciding whether to have the DNC or miscarry naturally is such a difficult decision..

For me, I really didn't feel as though I Had a choice in my situation When I learned that our baby no longer had a heartbeat, I was still not bleeding, nor showing any other signs of loss.. so my OBGYN felt that a DNC was best for us, and after thinking it over for a day or two, I agreed. Also I was about 13 weeks along and personally, I was not sure I could handle miscarrying and bleeding at that stage..I think it would have been far too much for me emotionally

Since you are already spotting a bit, I think that miscarrying naturally is a more viable option for you. However, everyone feels differently about these things. Some people just need closure and dont want the emotional pain of bleeding/miscarrying on their own, so they opt for the DNC.. others rather "let nature take its couse" and miscarry without medical intervention (no anesthesia, nothing invasive, etc)

Either way, its not an easy situaiton and I hope you find some peace in whatever you decide. My heart goes out to you during this very sad and difficult time Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon and I'm here if you ever need a thing Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Should i opt for the DNC or miscarry naturally??

I think as the other ladies said it depends on how far along you are. I M/C at 5 weeks and did it naturally. I bled for about 4 weeks, had a 2 day break and then got AF. I did have to get the methotrexate shot which really didn't have any effect I felt-my levels did go down but no increased bleeding or anything like that. Good luck

Anesthesia isn't always used they use Valium now which lightly sedates you
