Anyone who has had a baby...???
I just had a baby almost a month ago. I ended up getting the epidural while in labor. About a week ago I notice my back hurting and getting very bad headaches. Today my back hurts so much I can't even sit for 5 minutes straight without it hurting. I have to either lay down or put pillow to support my back. It hurt to sleep on my back too. I've also notice not just the headaches but getting dizzy too. Has anyone ever had the symptoms after a epidural and is there anythign that can be done to help this or are these long term symptoms???

Re: Anyone who has had a baby...???
This shouldn't be because of the epidural. It could be becasue of weight lose, carrying the baby, and all of the bending. You should see your docotr you may need to also see a chiropractor.
Updated********* I do not believe it's from the epidural because it's been almost a month since she was released. Sound smore like a kidney infection like szomeone else posted, and or you may b e getting ready to throw your back out

My sister in law had this and ended up in the hospital very sick. Call your dr right away. Gall stones are common after pregnancy and present as back pain. My sister in law ignored this an ended up with a serious infection in ICU for 2 weeks. Dont wait!! It could be nothing but dont take a chance.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR ASAP!!!!!
I had this problem too, 6 days after delivery. I had a spinal, not an epidural. I was hospitalized for a while because I didn't know what was going on and it took me a while to call my doctor. Come to find out that I was having a reaction to the spinal.
I agree with the above post. It could be nothing. But why take the chance? I know it's the weekend, but please call as soon as you can.

Re: Anyone who has had a baby...???
Severe headaches can be the result of either a spinal or epidural (possibly the leaking of spinal fluid). A friend of mine had similar symptoms, and it turned out to be the above, leaking of spinal fluid.
I know it's been one month since your epidural, but anything is possible.
No matter what is causing your symptoms, get it checked asap; there's no reason for you to suffer.
I hope you are feeling better soon

Re: Anyone who has had a baby...???
Okay, I have a prolapsed disc, I never had any back problems EVER before having an epidural. All the doctors that I have been to have denied the connection, but I can't help but think there is something there...
I hope you feel better!

Re: Anyone who has had a baby...???
I had a leaking of spinal fluid after my epidural-it was horrible. Severe head/neck pain, vomiting, light sensitivity. I ended up back in the hospital for a blood patch and then got an infection with a 105 fever and had to be re-hospitalized for a week on IV antobiotics when my daughter was just a few days old. Def get it checked out!
