Europe tour

Has anyone toured Europe, maybe with a group or with a company?

We'd like to goto Europe for 10 days.. we'd like to hit all of the big cities in the major countries.... France, Germany, Italy, etc.

I was trying to look if there are tour groups out there that work out all the arrangements.... thinking about scheduling that type of tour myself gives me a headache. Chat Icon

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this?

Re: Europe tour

We recently went with a tour company called ACIS. They have adult groups, teenage groups, etc. DH is a teacher and we recently went to Europe with some of his students. They have MANY tours to choose from and I highly recommend them. There are other companies like them, but they operate with such organization and we (including all the teenagers) truly enjoyed the entire trip.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to FM me! Chat Icon

Re: Europe tour

I went on a Contiki tour when I graduated college and it was great. The tour is designed for 18-32 year olds, so it was perfect for me. There were a lot of kids just out of college like me, there were young married couples, and older singles. It was a great mix. I did a 21 day tour and went to Engladn (London), France (Nice, Lyon and Paris), a small town in Germany, Switzerland (we stayed at a small hotel in the alps), Austria (where they make Swaravski crystal), Italy (Florence, Rome and Venice. It was amazing!

I've seen these before - I'm just worried about being stuck around a bunch of annoying teenagers. Maybe if we go when college is in session it wouldnt be so bad. I"m reading thru their message boards, and they talk about people sharing toiletries and such.. ummm. no thanks. Then again maybe we could just be the unsociable old farts on the trip.

What about speaking to a travel agent who can sell you a package rather than a tour. This way all the hotels and transfers are sorted out for you, you can work with the TA and its all sorted for you. The only think you would do yourself is plan you days and your sightseeing. Thats a nice happy medium if you are unsure of a tour. With a tour you are stuck with them all the time....that doesn't appeal to me at all.

Re: Europe tour

Club ABC. You have to join it, but you get discounts on the hotels and flights. You can make arrangements to go on their tours when you get to the hotel.
