bridge building?
Anyone have success with pasta bridges with 5th graders? I'm leery to let them use the hot glue gun... but this seems cool... are popsicle sticks just as effective?

Re: bridge building?
do NOT let kids use a hot glue gun--it's a lawsuit waiting to happen
we as teachers aren't even allowed to use them when kids are in the room. i have burns on my hands and feet (open toed shoes) from 4 years ago when the glue dripped and burned me pretty badly. you can't always control it and it can cause severe burns
i would absolutely find a different type of glue.

Re: bridge building?
yea, I'd let them do it with tacky glue...
I was shocked last year seeing a 4th gr teacher in my bldg letting the kids use the hot glue guns... but I still wouldn't do it with 5th
