Ladies Please Help...
I need some suggestions. Ok we are having some friends over this Saturday for a christmas gathering where our kids are all going to be exchanging gifts. I am not a gourmet chef but there are certain things I can make. I am not a big meat cooker. It's fine if I am making it for just DH and me but cooking it for a group of people makes me more nervous and likely to burn things...LOL
I was thinking of making Mancotti's in the oven. But what else can I make??? Suggestions please...

Manicotti sounds great! Meatballs are pretty easy - brown them in a pan and let them simmer in sauce for a while if you want to stay with a more Italian menu.
Spiral hams are super easy to prepare - you are basically reaheating the meat.

How about some chicken parm? that's relatively easy to make?
I can give you a recipe for the easy man's version that I make my kids when I don't want to bread and fry cutlets?

I would definitely do Italian: Lasagna, chick parm etc. I actually wold stay away from the maniocotti as I find filling them a PITA. Also you can look on Campbells website for easy casseroles. You could also make a big dish of pasta with sauce, meatballs and sausage-super easy.

Actually no I wouldn't have to fill them because I can buy them filled already. There is this fresh pasta store that sells them frozen in the box. Filled and everything. All I have to do is make the sauce.
I'm just trying to think of what to serve with the Mancotti's besides a Salad...

How about an whole chicken (roasting). I put the chicken in a roasting pan, cut up three onions and potatoes and put it around the chicken. I drizzle the onions and potatoes with some olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper...pop it in the oven and when the thermometer pops, its done...serve with a salad (and carrots if you want) and you're all set!
P.S. The whole house will smell sooo yummy!

I have a small oven and there would be no space once the manicotti's go into the oven.

Re: Ladies Please Help...
how aboutbaked ziti? Kids love it and you add chop meat if you want to or not. It's super easy to make a few days ahead and reheat on Saturday.

Re: Ladies Please Help...
Well, if you want to stick with the manicotti, meatballs and garlic bread would be good additions to the menu.

Re: Ladies Please Help...
I went with the Manicottis...
I did a platter of Fresh Mozzarella with tomatoes and an antipasto platter as well. I cooked some carrotts too.
I ended up forgetting to put the salad out. I had no room for the salad on the table so I had said that as soon as the manicotti trays are clear i'll take them off the table and get the salad. Then by the time I remembered the salad, everyone was too full to have it. So DH and I will have the salad today along with some leftover manicottis...
