Godparents for twins
So, we've decided to have a set of godparents for each baby - so 2 godfathers and 2 godmothers.
For those of you that went through this, when did you ask the godparents to be godparents?
Did you wait to find out the sex and then assign based on gender? I'm not sure I'm explaining this right - but I wonder with twins, if there were any special considerations
And was it in person or over the phone

I had two sets of god-parents. I choose my sister and Uncle to be Claire's godparents because neither of them have a girl and I thought that was nice. My cousin and his wife are James' because they just love little boys!
I asked them after the babies were born and over the phone because they all live OOS.

We also had 2 sets of godparents and asked them over the phone (they are OOS) after they were born.

We were not 100% on who it would be before they were born, but we knew some definites. My kids actually have 3 Sponsors each, one couple and then a single person. We didn't decide who was who until after we asked. We decided who was who's based on who we felt were better matches.
We asked i person the people that lived here and the OOS ones were over the phone.

We didn't have a religious service but we did need to pick legal guardians in case of our joint death (yeah, something no one wants to think about but needs to be done).
We chose DH's sister and BIL as guardians for both, it's important to us that they be kept together.
We asked in person, after the birth, when they were in town visiting from OOS. We did it after the birth because the will could not be ammended until then.

We have two sets as well. We asked each set in person when the babies were three months old (we christened them at 5 months).

We also have two sets of Godparents. We asked after the twins were born. We decided who went to whom based on who was more suited for a boy or girl.

My sister and I are Godparents to our 2 nieces (twins) and SIL's 2 brothers are their Godfathers. I am Godmother to Cara and my sister to Megan.
Um yeah after they were born, and not in person - they were living in Liberia at the time.
