It is my understanding you should not have Crystal Light as it has aspartame in it. I beleive SOME doctors say Splenda is ok so diet drinks with that would be ok but I think you will get varied answers to this as many people opt out of completely drnking artificial sweetners at al lduring pregnancy. I would call your doctor and determine what he suggests and then what you are comfortable with.

You can have crystal light. I have Gestational Diabetes so I can't have regular iced tea or lemonade and my doctor and nutritionist both told me it was perfectly fine.

Repeat after me: everything in moderation.
No two doctors agree on most things with the exception of like, say, smoking and smoking crack, so just go by the everything in moderation addage.

Crystal Light has aspartame. I wouldn't drink it. Its like Diet sodas. I would drink sparkling water with lime or juice or Sprite. No reason to take any risks.
Here are the ingredients:
Ingredients: CITRIC ACID, MALTODEXTRIN, INSTANT TEA, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, ASPARTAME, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF NATURAL FLAVOR, MAGNESIUM OXIDE, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM, RED 40 LAKE, RED 40, YELLOW 6 LAKE, YELLOW 5, BLUE 1 LAKE, BLUE 1, BHA (PRESERVES FRESHNESS).

i have juvenile diabetes and LIVE on crystal light....also drank it throughout my first pregnancy with my son. he was fine and so far so good this time around. i think these things tend to be disagreed upon....but you need to do what you think is right.

All my dh drinks is Crystal Light Peach Iced Tea which is also my favorite. Ever since I got pg I haven't really been drinking it although occasionally, I will have a sip or two from his...should I be concerned now?

My doctor told me no artificial sweeteners at all, but my sister's OB told her Splenda was fine.
I have Splenda occasionally (it's in my coffee right now  ). About a month ago I had a diet coke and it was heaven  .
I think most things in moderation are okay, but you have to do what you are most comfortable with.

I am a juvenile diabetic too and I use artificial sweetners. My doctor, who is also a reasearch professor said that besides Sweet - n - low, there is no evidence that Aspartame or Splenda has any effect on the baby. My cousin is an ob/gyn and drank a diet coke everyday of her pregnancy. She has three daughters and they are perfectly healthy. My friend won't even have a piece of gun with aspartame which makes me laugh because the things people don't know about that they are ingesting is mindboggling. My doctor said that she would like me to focus on eating organic more than worrying about having one packet of equal a day. She said that eating non-organic apples is worse than aspartame because they are full of pesticides!

My doctor never told me not cease doing anything (other than cut out the sushi), but I have heard enough about aspartame concerns that I have not had any diet soda since I found out I am PG (except I had some yesterday). In moderation, I am sure it is fine.

Saw the Dr on monday and told her I was having a hard time drinking plain water she said iced tea is fine even Crystal Light is good too.
