Paris Restaurants
DH and I will be going to Europe this summer and we will be spending our anniversary in Paris. Can anyone recommend a restaurant? We were thinking of doing a show/dinner. Any thoughts?

Re: Paris Restaurants
DH and I were in Paris last year on our anniversary. As cheesy as this is going to sound, we had a blast and the food was delish!
The night of our anniversary we did one of those dinner/dancing cruises down the Siene. It was a little pricey, but so worth it. For what paid for, we got champagne upon boarding, a bottle of white wine and a bottle of red wine on our table (we're not big drinkers, but it was worth it) appitizers, salad, main course, cheese course, coffee and dessert.
As for other dinners out, since Paris is VERY expensive, we had dinner most nights at different cafes around the city. Something very romantic about sitting at a sidewalk cafe with DH sharing some wine and dinner.

Re: Paris Restaurants
I dont know any of the really fancy, expensive restaurants - when I've gone to Paris I've really only eaten in the bistros and cafes - but Cafe du Flor is my favorite. . . and apparently it's Ina Garten's (the barefoot contessa) favorite as well - they filmed a bit of her 'barefoot in paris' special there.
It's a famous cafe - but still, I was saying "nooooooooo - dont show that place!" at the tv.

Le Souffle is the quintessential Paris experience - go for the prix fixe 3 course souffle dinner. Delicious! My Parisien friend brings all out of town/country guests there.

Chez Fernand...I believe it's in the 5th or 6th district. Someone recommended to me and my friends and I thought it was the best meal our entire 2.5 week europe vacation!!!
If you want more info about it I can get it for you..let me know.
It's not supe fancy, not meant for tourists...its on a back road...very beautiful street...quaint and cozy and delish!

Re: Paris Restaurants
Fouquet is probably the most famous in Paris.
La tour d'argent is the most expensive (well, used to be!).
I personally recommend a meal on the Bateau Mouche (the boat cruise on the river!). Probably the most romantic. I believe you can board them by the bridge near the Eiffel Tower.

Yes, the shows.
You also have the Lido on the Champs Elysee. VERY Vegas like. Or the Crazy Horse (cabaret/poll dancing like). Those are the "famous" revues.
Just be VERY careful if you go to the Moulin Rouge. It's in a bad area. Plan on a taxi. No subway and walking. It's a "porn industry" area (sex shops, strip clubs, porn movie theater). Protistutes in the side streets. In short, not the safest!
