Already working...

I know it is our first day off, but I already planned for the first day back.

I had to tutor this morning and figured I would get this out of the way too. I want to have a few WHOLE DAYS off where I am not doing anything at all teacher related. So, I thought today would be a good day to do a little bit of work.

I have to plan from Wednesday, when we go back, until the ELA. I can use the weekend after the ELA to continue planning.

why do we, as teachers, never seem to let ourselves rest.

I have a pile of tests to grade but they will be sitting aside until I get bored the break. I'm learning to make sure I take time for me when it comes to this job or I'll kill myself or quit before I turn 30!!!

I think once you teach for a little while, you get better at planning ahead. I did all my plans before I went on vacation for the 2 1/2 weeks after our return (until Midterm exams).

I know how you feel... I just sat in the library for two hours and banged out seven college recommendations. One more to go, and then "all" I have left are something like six or seven sets of papers to grade... happy holidays indeed. Ah well -- at least we don't have to get up early tomorrow, right?

I feel sooo guilty about this. I had plenty of time the last 2 days of school to plan ahead- and I did very little. And here I am bsing and not doing anything. We are going away so i basically won't be planning til the last minute- I hate that last minute stress!
