Anyone Flown To or From Madrid?
For our honeymoon we fly to Barcelona and fly home from Venice. Both flights go through Madrid (flying Iberia airlines).
Going, it says it takes 6hr 15 min. Coming home, same flight pattern (Madrid to JFK, 3588 miles), it says it takes 9 hrs 25 min.
Does anyone know any reason for this or do you think maybe this is a mistake

That is strange, because it takes about 7 hours just to fly from JFK to Madrid....

I called them. I think the problem is that Expedia didn't take into account Daylight Savings. It's 7 hrs 15 min to get there, 8 hours 15 to get home because of the winds.
Makes waaaay more sense!

Re: Anyone Flown To or From Madrid?
Actually when I flew to Barcelona it took about 7 hours, Flying back took about 12 hours!!!! I think it has to do with the time of year and tradewinds, and also the plane. Flying back we had this tiny OLD plane, while on the flight out it was a brand new huge plane.

We honeymooned in Spain. It was about 6 hours from JFK to Madrid, and coming home it was 7 hours, and very bumpy!!

Re: Anyone Flown To or From Madrid?
I lived in Spain so would fly to & from JFK at least twice a year for 13 years.....and return at least twice a year since I moved back here. JFk -> Madrid averages 6 hours, Madrid -> JFK averages 7 hours although it seems much longer coming home than going there. There's nothing to see out the window after the first hour so try to sleep.
