IF you tried to plan out when you would get pregnant...
Were you successful??? I know this rarely happens but I want to try and plan it since I am a teacher....

No! but then again, I didnt temp, chart, or anything like that. Im assuming my timing was just really off and that is why it took so long.
ETA: I also have very screwy cycles

No.
I know that being a teacher, you would like to try to plan your pregnancy and due date around summer vacations, but TTC can take 1 month, or it can take several months or longer. While it's hard not to plan TTC around your life, sometimes life just has other plans.
Not trying to be a debbie downer, but just trying to show the other side of things as someone that's been around here much longer than expected.

Yes on the 2nd month we were successful. We both wanted to try and have a summer baby. We started in Sept, no luck to have a June baby and then next to October - we are now expecting in July.

I have to agree with this. Although many do have success planning, you have to be prepared that things don't always happen the way you want them or expect them.
I originally thought I wanted to have a baby in the spring, that way I wouldn't have to pregnant during the hot summer months and could enjoy the summer. However things didn't go as planned. 15 months later we are still trying, and I don't care what months I am pregnant or give birth.

I was successful 3 times and miscarried all 3 times. Now I just want a healthy pregnancy. No harm in trying for a certain month tough. Good luck!

Unfortunately no  I think that some are successful & others aren't. There are so many determining factors. My advice, if you want to really know what is going on with your cycles & body, stop using BCP a couple months before you "originally" wanted to stop & use a backup method. After 9 months off BCP, I still don't know my cycle yet OPK's are helping

I did the first time. We are hoping to do the same this time around. Just remember not everyone is the same, your body changes month to month, and will not necessarily let you plan.

I am shooting to get pregnant of June of 2008. I'm sure I'm naive to think I will conceive on the exact weekend that I want. I'll just have to wait until June to find out.

Ha funny you should bring this up. We actually hung up our BDing shoes as of now until July.
We didn't take a very aggressive approach when we started back in Sept..we had a very whenever it happens mentality and we still kind of do.
Because of the nature of my business I REALLY can't be on mat leave Nov-March so ideally we need an April-Sept delivery. Who knows maybe I'll kick myself down the road having this mentality.

My original plan was to be pregnant the first month trying so I could plan to be off and go to school before student teaching. That didn't work out! haha This will be our 3rd month trying and I'm learning that TTC isn't on demand for me!

No, it didn't work for us. I tried to have a summer baby, but we are currently working on a Fall baby. Oh well. It doesn't alwasy work out as planned.

First time yes, this time nope! I have now learned with TTC you have to be prepared for anything and while it's nice to plan you can have things set in stone.

I work in a school and I thought I could plan. I wanted to give birth in May or June. Then I thought the summer would be okay.. Well now 8 months later and 1 m/c to speak of I am trying for October. Good Luck. It may work for you but it didn't for me.

I was close. I wanted to have the baby by may so I can have the whole summer off. I am not a teacher but I get 3 months of maternity leave. Instead the baby is due mid august. I'll take it

Nope, 15 months later I have realized that I have NO control over timing. You can definately try, but don't risk everything trying to be successful the first month. It can take up to a year even if you don't have any fertiltiy issues.

i was close. i tried originally for april and got end of june/beginning of july which is great as well! i didn't think it would take me 3 months, which i realize isn't a long time, but i thought it would be easier

Good luck! I "oringianlly" thought it would be so easy and thought it would happen the month I tried...I would have like to get preggo in July..barring that I didn't have a chemical pregnancy it would have worked but I did manage to get preggo in Sept, first week back to school so I am due mid-late June..right when school gets out so it did work but would have liked a longer vacation with the baby than just the summer...
