For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
First, I'm sorry to bring up a sad topic, but if you could answer my question, I'd really appreciate it.
At what week did you miscarry, and how long did it take for AF to show up?
I miscarried at 5 weeks (Dec. 5), bled heavily for 3 days and lightly for 3. Now I'm waiting for AF to show. If I treat it like a normal period (which I'm kinda doing, since it was so early - if I hadn't known I was pregnant, I would have just thought I was a week late; this helps me deal with it), then I should get AF between today and Sunday. BUT, I think I just O'd. I gave myself a break from temping and OPKs, but have noticed some EWCM, which means AF won't show up for another 2 weeks or so.
I'm just trying to put my mind at ease, or make myself feel normal, or something...
Thanks.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
i am so sorry, i've never had a miscarriage, so i can't give you any advice, but i know that it is possible to O following a miscarriage - and it is also true that you tend to be more fertile immediately following a miscarriage, i think it has something to do with the PG hormones already in your body. i'm sorry i don't know more, did you ask your OBGYN about it?
are you in the 2WW or did you abstain from BDing? if you didn't BD, i would just wait until AF shows and then try again. i am so sorry you had to go thru this.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
Thanks, I guess, technically, since I'm pretty sure I O'd, I'm in the 2ww, but I'm not waiting to test, because we pretty much abstained. I'm in the 2ww for AF. Maybe I wasn't clear in my question - I'm just wondering how long people waited for AF after a m/c.
But headoverheels, thanks for your reply!

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I miscarried at 9 weeks and got my AF about 2 months later. I'm sorry though that I don't remember all the details. I did get pregnant again about a year later (but I had to stop trying for the year b/c of another issue).

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
We are pretty sure I was preg last month, and I got the WORST period of my life. I never POAS. I never went o the dr, becuase at that point it was all out of me, and I did not really put it together until a few days after the bad AF. I never tested becuase I was not goign to test unless I was late. Heavy flow, clotting, bad cramps, I had tell tale signs of pregnancy- metal taste in my mouth, etc. I did not even test because I just thought it was a bad AF. I was knocked on my back for about 2 weeks, I was so tired, I could not get enough sleep etc. I just got AF this afternoon after a 28 day cycle. I am usually every 26 days, and this month so far has not been nearly as bad as it was on 12-7-07. I am so sorry you went thru this.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I miscarried naturally at around 8 weeks. I bled very lightly for three days adn then it stopped. I got my period 27 days later (my normal cycle) and it was really heavy and bad. I basically miscarried that period.
My periods have resumed normal since then I'm on my second period now after the m/c and it has been normal. I'm waiting one more before we ttc again
FM if you have any questions

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
First I want to tell you how sorry I am that you are going through this! I miscarried on Dec. 7th and bled for 2 weeks. My OB/GYN said as long as I passed everything (waiting for blood work to come back) I could expect a period within 2 to 6 weeks.

I also m/c very early. Mine came 3 days before AF was due. I thought the blood looked weird... bright red, lasted several days, some clumps [sorry TMI] and I happened to have a gyno appt [annual] the following week. I told the dr. that I thought I had a m/c since AF came 3 days early and it lasted really long, which is not my usual period. They took a blood test and I found out a week later that I was PG but I had miscarred; my hcg levels were super low at the time of my appt.
AF showed up 31 days after the m/c started. I usually have 28 day cycles and according to this month's CBEFM, it looks like I will have another 28 day cycle. I would keep using the OPK and follow your CM. BD your a$$ off since you have EWCM now. Best of luck!!

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I m/c'd 4 times between 7 and 12 weeks. A/F took a different amount of time to show up after. I am usually irregular though. I think it is normal to be "late" after a m/c.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
Sorry for your loss.
I m/c at 12 weeks, needed a D&C, and it took 8 weeks to get AF. But after the first cycle I was completely regular again.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I am so sorry. I miscarried at 5 weeks 4 days. You really can't treat it as a normal period because it wasn't. I bled for 37 days and somewhere at about 30 days or so I ovuated and I got my period 2 weeks after that. You're body had to get the HCg down to a level low enough were it could ovulate. I still had HCG in me whent the doctor confirmed ovualtion. So I guess what I am saying is that your period could take up to 6 to 8 weeks to return. Again I am so sorry for you loss. It is such an awful thing.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I had a m/c at 7 weeks and miscarried naturally....the m/c bleed was almost just like my AF but with lots of tissue I mean a lot (it was the thick lining shedding and the early planceta forming) I had the bleed for 5 days with no major cramps..but very very bad lower back pain before that.....(it all depends how high your beta was at the time of m/c)....I got my next AF 5 weeks after that.....

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I am sorry you had to go through this as well. I didn't miscarry, but I had a baby early at 20 weeks, bled for 5 weeks, had 2 days of spotting, then got my period for 8 days. I am guessing that our bodies do know how to get back on track, so I hope yours does soon!
I hope you feel better.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I am sorry you went through this. I just M/C'd two weeks ago at 5 weeks along. It is the second time this happened to me in five months. I got my period late, heavier bleeding than normal and had it for a week. According to my CBEFM, I am O right now, but skipping this month due to what happened and going for tests this month.
Again, so sorry.

Re: For those who have miscarried (UPDATE last post)
Thank you all so much for replying! I know it's hard to rehash. AF arrived in full force today (and with a vengeance, I might add - oy, the cramps!), at 31 days after my m/c. I finally feel like I'm back on track, and no longer in limbo.
I'm so sorry that each and every one of you had to go through this, but at the same time, I'm so grateful that we're all here to support each other though it, and offer help to each other.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I had a "Chemical Pregnancy" (aka m/c) back in July..since it was only into my 5th week it was like a late period and pushed everything back a week but was normal after that and ended up getting preggo in Sept. Sorry, it made me feel better to know 75% of women have a Chemical Preg the first time they get pregnant and lose it in their 5th week but they also go to get pregnant again and carry full term a healthy baby. Best of Luck!

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I m/c at 8 weeks and had a d&c. I bled for about 10 days. AF showed up 7 weeks later. I believe 7 weeks is pretty long, from what I am told, most people get AF by 4 weeks. I was very irregular and I think a d&c might prolong the wait....after my first AF, my cycles were down to about 32 days which was awesome for me.
Sorry you had to go through this, it's never easy.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I m/c at 10 weeks, but the baby stopped forming at 6w2d. So I had a D&C. I bled for about a week, and cramped somethng awful, that was 9/26. I had a period like clockwork on 10/27, and we've been TTC ever since. My OB just wanted me to have a cycle or two, but I think that every doctor is different. GL and if you need to talk FM me.

Re: For those who have miscarried (a little long, sorry)
I miscarried at 9 weeks...and I bled for about a week afterward. I got my period 30 days later....and it was a normal period...not heavy or anything. I am so sorry that you are going through this. The positive was that as soon as I got AF, I was PG the next month!!! Good Luck to you!
