Kid Stuck in Vending Machine

And his mom is an IDIOT

1. Took him shopping at Wal Mart at 3AM

2. Got "mad" at the employees when they said they had no key for the machine

3. "went inside Wal-Mart to buy a camera to take a picture of her son IN the machine.

Boy Gets Stuck Inside Vending Machine

ELKHART, Ind. (May 21) - A 3-year-old boy upset that his mother wouldn't let him use a crane vending machine to try to win a small stuffed animal took matters in his own hands. He climbed up the chute to get the prize himself.

Danielle Manges said she took her eyes off her son, James, for a moment to pick up a juice bottle he threw. When she looked up, he was in with the plush toys.

''I bent over to clean it and within two seconds he had climbed through the hole, into the chute and pushed the door shut so we couldn't get him out,'' she said. ''He climbed up in the toys and was in there for a good hour.''

"He was swinging from a bar, jumping around. He was having a ball."
-Anthony Coleman, firefighter

Manges said James has been sick and sleeping odd hours so they went shopping about 3 a.m. Thursday at a Wal-Mart in the city some 15 miles east of South Bend. She let the boy play on some of the rides, but wouldn't give him money for the vending machine.

At first, Manges thought it was funny.

''He was playing with all the toys and hanging from the bar like a monkey,'' she said.

Manges said people leaving the store went back inside to buy disposable cameras to take photos of her son. She bought one herself.

She became upset, however, when Wal-Mart employees said they did not have a key to let James out. So Manges called the fire department for help.

''I expected his hand to be caught in the machine but it was his entire body in the machine,'' firefighter Anthony Coleman said. ''He was swinging from a bar, jumping around. He was having a ball.''

About 40 people watched as the firefighters removed the back of the machine and freed him.

James still came up empty handed.

''He definitely didn't get a toy after that,'' Manges said.

best time to go Chat Icon lines are short, no one is bothering you, can spend hours just wondering around the store getting things you need or maybe dont need but have time to look.

I love late night wal-mart runs!

Re: Kid Stuck in Vending Machine

We have super wal-marts that are open 24 hours. The only time they are closed is Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years day.

The night before we left for Vegas we were at Wal-Mart at midnight. I think we left at around 1:30am.

Late night run's are the best.

I think there is a difference between "late night runs" and 3 am runs.

some people go to the bodega at 2am to get cigarettes, some people go to wal-mart at 3am to buy milk, some people go food shopping at 6am what ever time people choose to go is their discretion. just because some are sleeping at 3am, that time may be the norm for others to do shopping. some people work till midnight and 3am is the convenient time to go for them.

so I dont see what exactly a difference is. You may work 9 - 5 and going to Wal-Mart, target, whatever at 6 or 7 after work is normal for you, maybe even going at 8am before work, but some may work till midnight or later, some may work at 4am till noon and going at 3am is going before work or after is normal for them.

Bars in FL close at 2am, by the time the bartendars cash up, clean up it's easily 2:30 maybe even 3am and they realize they need milk or may be hungry so shopping at 3am for someone who works a bar shift may be the same as someone stopping at 6pm for someone who works 9 - 5

Re: Kid Stuck in Vending Machine

I completely agree with HarleygirlFla. Just because most of us are sleeping at that time doesnt mean someone shopping at 3am is out of the norm either. Some people hate crowds like me, lol- I hate waiting on line!!! And I prob would go out at 3am if a super walmart was open around here- why not? If Im up, cant sleep and I need something, why not? Now bringing my son if I had one, thats another story- that I would not.

Plenty of the Walmart Supercenters stay open 24-7. The one up in Binghamton did, and when we went to college, we used to go there at all hours.

I have no problem with this woman shopping at 3am. The problem is that she had her 3 year old out at 3am and that she thought it was cute that he was in the machine!
