Restaurant Suggestions:
The Valentine's Day post got me and DH talking - and then thinking - about where to go for dinner. Now, we have been to a few places we LOVED but we want to try something new.
Any suggestions? - *REALLY* nice b/c we never go out to high-end places so this is our one chance a year to do it! We have been to and LOVED: 21 Main, Tellers, Blackstone, Ruth's Chris and Tavern on the Green. (I think those are all of the "nice" places).
Any NEW suggestions? ...along the lines of the above but a place we've never been!
TIA!!
PS - we don't mind traveling, we are in Suffolk but it doesn't matter!

Uncle Jack's Steakhouse in Queens on Bell Blvd.
http://www.unclejacks.com/newyorkcityrestaurants/media/unclejacksqueens.html
Very pricey, but the best steak I have EVER had...it seems like you like steaks from the other restaurants you wrote, and this place is the best. DH and I go here for all of our special occasions!
If you want to be closer on the island, Vintage in St. James is also great.

Re: Restaurant Suggestions:
yes - we are into the steak types of places... with some seafood too. we are just not really into italian - IDK, vinny is all italian so to us a "special" meal is not italian lol italian is a tuesday! hahaha - and i'm not a huge fan of that type of food in general anyway so that is why we stick to the steaks/seafood type of places.

Re: Restaurant Suggestions:
Gotcha, that makes lots of sense...I can't really think of anything else (all that comes to mind is Italian LOL) but wherever you go, have a good time! Good Luck!

Mill Pond House. FYI - wherever you decide to go, I'd make a reservation asap. I've called a few places and can't get anything b4 9

I agree with the Mill Pond House in Centerport and/or Louis XIV in Patchogue.... or if you want to travel...Peter Luger in Brooklyn (not Great Neck)

Re: Restaurant Suggestions:
A few places in the city I really like. We just went to Morimoto. It's owned and operated by Iron Chef Morimoto. It's Japanese and excellent. Even the dessert was fab.
The Tasting Room: Small and rustic but extra special. Definitely call ahead for reservations.
Sparks: Steak and more steak. Excellent wine list
Maloney & Porcelli: Steak also with a really good seafood menu as well.
Rue 57: French and seafood.
The London: Owned by Dave Ramsey..my boss went there and said it was vey good.
LI:
The Palm Court (Eisenhower) we went there last year for our anniversary. I would love to go back. White glove service all the way and the veal was ultra yummy.
Sagamore:
Expensive a little shi shi but nice menu with things you won't expect from a regular steak house. Good service and drinks.
The Oak Room: Carlyle on the Green..American fare, nice atmosphere and good food.
I'm sure I could come up with more..but check these out.
