like your friendship has drifted apart with your friends that have babies? I have 2 friends that recently had babies, one in July and the other in September. Even though we still see each other all the time, I feel like we have nothing in common.

We definitely haven't drifted, but it has been hard at times. I am always behind. First they were all married and talking about their husbands and I was still single. Then they were all pregnant and now they have preschoolers. So, I'll be behind there too. At least I get a lot of advice.

I was in this situation too- my friends all had kids and I hadn't even met DH yet! Now they have two and really it feels like there's no time for me. But I also don't live in the area any more.

Re: does anyone else feel...

Only one of my friends has a baby. The baby will be a year old in December. My friend and I used to talk for hours about anything and everything. Now each time I talk to her about 98% of the conversation is all about her daughter. It's like we have absolutly nothing in common. She's not even married. I asked her one day so have you gone out and she said well when you have a daughter.

It was like her entire personality and self had changed. I undestand having kids changes everything, but it just seems like the friendship has definatly drifted.

This has been my life for years now. I have three close friends from HS. One has a ten year old and a 5 year old.. basically we are just telephone buddies. She also lives in N. Massapequa and I live in E. Northport. There is absolutely no time to get together. She's not one for leaving her kids with a sister or bringing them along as we have no kids. MY BF has lived in MA since college. I always hoped we'd have kids about the same age but her daughter is already 18 months old.

It's also difficult because my BF so doesn't take care of herself (has always eaten the worst foods, doesn't exercise at all and is obesely overweight) and of course she got pregnant the first month trying. Oh, and while we are the same age her DH is younger (30) and mine is older (37 and had wanted to be a Daddy for so long now). She's very good and understanding of my situation and luckily has had a few other friends in MA who have had serious infertility issues so she understands as much as she can.
