Help
I work in a high school (non teaching) and my athletic director has offered me a teaching job to go along with my other job. He was going to have me considered as a .5 teacher, but now has said that he will have to have me as .4 without benefits b/c that is the only way the district will approve of this new position they are creating specifically for me. Is this a good idea? People have said no b/c I will not get benefits or anything, but I have insurance through DH and everything... I think it's a foot in the door to get a full time job... Normally this would be a difficult position to get a job for. What do you think? Thanks!

Re: Help
If the only con is the insurance/benefits, and you have that throught your DH, I would say go for it. You'd be no worse off than you are now, right?
What have you got to lose??

Re: Help
Even at .4 you are in the retirement system, it will be that many year that you are closer to retirement.
