Early pregnancy cramping
How much is too much?
I woke up at 4am with a sharp pain across my stomach - felt like I had to go to the bathroom, but I went and nothing.
Otherwise I've been feeling kind of AF crampy, but nothing this sharp, only the one time.
ETA: I'm about 4wks 2days

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
ME TOO!!! I am 4 weeks and 5 days. I woke up at 1 AM and had really sharp cramps in the middle of my abdomen , really sharp, I was so worried I kept getting up to check to make sure no bleeding. Ive been having the af crampies too, this was the first time there was a really sharp one. I was hoping its just because it needs more room I hope someone on here can reassure us

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
I am 7w3d and still get mild cramping. It's all normal. It's the ligaments and uterus stretching to make room for the baby
As long as their is no bleeding and the pain isnt causing you to double over - it's all normal

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
Thanks for that. I didn't double over, but I was laying down - it just scared me because it was so sharp. But so far no bleeding or anything, so I'll take that as a good sign.
Thanks!

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I was about 4 weeks along. Only difference is I did not know that I was pregnant.
I woke up in pain and, thought it was AF showing up. I actually took a couple of Advil.

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
I have had mild cramping off and on since I was 5DPO. (I am now 4wks. 5days) It feels like mild menstrual cramps.....not really painful, more uncomfortable than anything. No spotting or bleeding so everyone says it's normal. Lots of luck to you!!!!!!

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
I had AF like cramps for a few weeks, and a sharp pain on the side that felt like an ovulation pain.

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
Totally normal. I had it pretty bad in the past few weeks and no it sort of went away, I get it only once in awhile now.

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
I just found out I was pregnant on Saturday and I've been cramping as well. My stomach hurts every time I bend down. I thought I was PMSing, then realized I was 5 days late...

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
AF like cramping is normal.... however, if you get cramps that make you double over in pain, or they are increasing in intensity and are super-painful, you should call your OB/GYN. Certain life threatening situations (like tubal pregnancies) give intense shooting pains and have to be taken care of ASAP......

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
I've definately had cramping, mostly uterine/AF like cramps. I'm actually excited about it, knowing the embryo is implanting in there!!

Re: Early pregnancy cramping
For me I always had alot of cramps the whole first trimester. Sometimes the painwas dull and sometimes sharp. Its all normal as long as there is no bleeding and it isn't unbearable pain.
