The curry did help, it was lovely and spicy and it cleared my head up a bit. I do suggest spicy food if you have a cold.

I hate curry with a firey passion. Maybe I'll go find some jalepenos.

But seriously, my head is THROBBING.

And every time I blow my nose it makes a high pitched squeak that only I can hear...and maybe my dog.

do you like chinese mustart? wonton soup with chinese mustard. give it a go.

it's one of those things where you just gotta wait until it runs it's course.

it's a battle I face at least twice a winter...and it's left me with permanent vision damage (turned in to pink eye which damaged my corneas)

I do like Chinese Mustard, but I prefer Wasabi. Thats quite the sinus clearer. What about (whats it called....) thats stuff you drink with hot water...THERAFLU? That works good also. I didn't know you could get vision damage from sinusitis....

neither did I Chat Icon

the infection traveled from my sinuses to my chest to my eyes, and the doctors think there may still be live (but dormant) cells in my eyes, which flair up every time I have a sinus infection, further effecting my vision.

it's awesome.

Excellent. I will try all three.

DH is on his way home from work - I think I'll make him grab Chinese on the way. Chat Icon

I used a saline spray (like Ocean).

It helps to loosen up all of the stuff in there--I also saw on Oprah once a Neti Pot, Google it, they are supposed to help!

Feel better fellow sinus sufferers!

Re: I have sinusitis...

Definitely do the NeilMed sinus rinse. This is what Deb is also referring to. It literally hoses the junk out of your sinuses. It's awesome.

Re: I have sinusitis...

My DH suffers from extreme sinusitis as well, the ENT suggested surgery, but he doesn't want it. Have any of you gotten really bad clogged ears from it?

Yes. Has he tried the Sinus Rinse?

The surgery is rough because it might not work and either way I think it only lasts 5 years. I have honestly been able to keep my sinus symptoms well controlled by taking my allergy medicines religiously and using the Sinus Rinse. Sinus rinsing is amazing! I'm a believer!

It's the same concept and the same saline rinse.

The one I use is in a squeeze bottle and you actually squeeze it so there is more pressure. I think it's a little easier to use than the neti pot and you get more torque.

My ENT reccomended it and it has helped so much. I used to get sinus infections that would tunr into bronchitis or pneumonia and miss weeks of work, many anti-biotics, almost in the hospital, etc and since I started using the Sinus Rinse I have not had a problem, and it helps so much with allergies too

Aww Rach
Make me a list - I'll bring over whatever my little sister needs.

I can bet you million dollars or pounds, your choice, that David never uses the sinus rinse. If he doesn't give you his, I'll buy you one.

Re: I have sinusitis...

I've had sinusitis for years...I'm thinking about trying a neti pot to help alleviate it while I'm preggo.

Eventually, I'll need to get the surgery...I was supposed to get it a few years back, but I put it off b/c they still packed your nose at the time. I refused to be miserable with my nose packed for a week.

(I know I'm a baby)
