HSG....maybe TMI
Hi everyone....I had an HSG almost 2 weeks ago on 1/23 and about 2 days later I had some black disacharge  . The doctor gave me antibiotics to take before and after the procedure to prevent infection. I was a little concerned aboout the black discharge but tried not to get myself in a panic because the procedure is quite invasive and I thought it might be dried blood. But also since the procedure I've been experiencing cramping and yesterday it was pretty bad
Anyone have similiar experiences after an HSG??

I had no side effects from my HSG at all. Have you called your doctor?

thats fine! nothing wrong-it is a common side effect-I had it just with a water hsg

Hi I also just had an HSG and felt cramping for some time after. But I would call the doctor anyway just for your own peace of mind.

I am scheduled to have an HSG on Wednesday. I am very nervous; any input would be greatly appreciated.
How long did the procedure last? Can DH come in with me?

I called the doctor about the discharge and he said it was just old blood. PHEW!!! I feel so much better now. Thanks everyone

I would just call the doctor. It could just be old blood or something, but just ge some peace of mind
