Question
Hi, I am new to this board and I have a quesion. My husband and I are not offically trying for a baby yet, but we are having fun in the process. Anyways, I get my period on the first of every month and I am four days late. I had unprotecte sex starting on the eight day of my period in January. On January 26 I began spotting and it lasted until this last thursday. I have never had that happen before. I had gastric bypass surgery in June 2007, and since then my periods have been llike clockwork. Is it possible that I may be pregnant? When and should I test? Sorry this is so long. Thanks in advance!

Re: Question
I think you should test...
But usually your period will come every certain amount of days, and since some months have different amounts of days than others... it won't necessarily be on the 1st of the month each time.
Also, there are many factors that can lead to delayed ovulation, which will then cause your period to be delayed. You may have ovulated later this cycle, so your period might not even be due.
OR, of course there is the possibility that you could be pregnant.
If you period is approximately every 30 days, one might think you would ovulate on about day 16... which would be 8 days after you had unprotected sex.
Either way, I'd say test... but just know the possibilities.
Good luck, hope you get the answer you're looking for!
