Atonement.

Ok, my mother is an English professor, so suffice to say, I am always around good books.

A year or 2 ago, when she was reading this book, she would raise her head and pronounce:

"I love this book..."

I am now reading it b/c when I hear a movie (based on a book) is actually GOOD, I want to read the book first...

i'm about 1/2 way through....

It's..... alright... I'm reading it obsessively b/c of the raves..

what are your thoughts?

(Im too stubborn NOT to finish a book, but I just need some reassurance it getts *better*)

Never read the book but I also heard its GREAT!! But I;m the same way- too stubborn to not finish it, even if it *****!! Let me know how it turn out!

I posted about this book a few weeks ago---I am also very stubborn and have to finish a book once I start it, but I had to put it down. I just could not get into it. I have it sitting on my nightstand, at some point I might go back and try again but I was so disapointed that I just couldn't finish it! I think this was the general census! If you get through it, let me know if it gets better!!!

After seeing the movie, I have no desire to read this book!
