Help!

I know I'm a horrible speller, and I can live with that. I'm sorry I know it's annoying. What I can't live with is the: there, their. How do you use them? How do you know when to use them? TIA!!

It is their car.

There: location, interjection, a condition

Put your coat down over there. (location)

There! I told you the Giants would win. (Interjection)

You are on your own from there. ( condition)

They're: Contraction meaning they are

They're seven days left until vacation.

agreed...clear explanation, except...
"They're seven days left until vacation."

Ive never used 'they're' in that sense.
"They're still at the football game." is maybe a better example.

Ha ha that is because this English Teacher made a big mistake!! They're seven days left until vacation is completely wrong!!

ok, I have to tell you I am a dork...driving to work today, I was saying the sentence out loud going....man, maybe I am wrong. The other drivers surely thought I was wacky.
