Need advice
Anyone deal w/ really severe anxiety? Where it interferes in work, life, relationships, etc.
I have terrible anxiety that interferes in everything! I just want to know if anyone else has dealt (or is dealing) with this .... and what do you do to encourage yourself to be calm and relaxed? I am in constant 'fight or flight' mode and it's exhausting!

Are you seeing a therapist? if not you should and if that doesn't alleviate the axiety then he/she could put you on medication...Good LUCK

Re: Need advice
i dealt with anxiety for YEARS... it was awful around 5 years ago.
This is the first time in a LONG time that I am medication - free so it can be fixed.
I had times where I was afraid to leave the house b/c I felt someone was going to hurt me. It was crippling b/c I had a toddler to raise (alone) and it wasn't fair to him to have a crazy mom. But I can't help the chemical makeup of my brain.
now and then I react to things a little too much and I can feel the anxiety building up but I've learned how to recognize what sets me off and different ways of calming myself.
Therapy helps. ALOT. you just need to recognize your behaviors and gear the energy towards something positive.
meditation helps... yoga helps... and sometimes you just need medication to put the anxiety aside while you figure out where the issue is.
what I'm trying to say is, you're not alone.

actually a therapist cannot put you on medication... only a psychiatrist can..
just taking medication does not work if you dont balance it out with therapy.. it helps take the edge off, but to truly work out a problem, you have to get to the root of it. firgure out why it's there.
